GBI keeps the international community, policy decision-makers, the media, and the public informed about important bioethical issues through educational activities, including annual summer school on global bioethics. Many of the issues addressed by GBI are relevant to the work of the United Nations, including reproductive and sexual rights, human organ trafficking, and the ethics of population aging. GBI is associated with the United Nations Department of Information (UNDPI) and enjoys special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
